The Archive is a chance for us to showcase some of the garments we’ve made for clients – briefly discussing fabrics, styles and cuts.
Balancing colour and texture is vital in achieving a look that is both striking yet subtle and this is the perfect example of that.
Our client was looking for a suit that had an edge to it, stood out from the crowd, but didn’t draw too much attention.
For the lead fabric we chose a deep and rich mahogany tweed, flecked with tiny sparks of amber and cocoa. To exaggerate the warmth of the cloth, we used a pheasant coloured tweed for the waistcoat.
With the cut and styling we kept it very simple with a classic notched lapel and two button closure. We kept the cut slim but not skinny, ensuring there was balance through the shoulders, waist and skirt of the jacket and down to the width and hem of the trousers.
The look was subtle and elegant, worn with confidence and sophistication.
